Lichfield District Council received 38 applications for a slice of the funding. Among the projects are:
· Allotments
· A community café
· Enhancing sports facilities
· Indoor and outdoor play areas
· Improving cultural and arts facilities
· Creating a woodland area
· Environmental improvements
· Staffordshire Hoard in Lights
· A statue of Erasmus Darwin
The Section 106 Uncovered event will be a chance to look at all projects and to tell the council which are the preferred ones and why.
Council officers will be on hand at the event to answer any questions, and to collect comments about how the £400,000 should be spent to benefit Lichfield City.
Councillor Neil Roberts, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Development Services, said: “We hope lots of people come to this event and give us their views, as we need to make sure any funding decisions are based on what the local community wants for their city.”
The council is also hoping local people will give their views online, if they can’t make it to the meeting. To find out more about the projects, and to give your views, please visit www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/voiceit.
