Alfie's owner returned from work to find him in the street, dragging himself back to the house, badly wounded and in a lot of pain.
Following a three-and-a-half hour operation at Pool House Veterinary Clinic, in Lichfield, Wendy was shocked to discover Alfie had been shot in the abdomen by a pellet gun. The pellet went through the left side of his body before lodging itself in his right knee. He has been left in a critical condition with damage to his intestine and is at risk of developing peritonitis, which can be fatal in cats.
Wendy, said: “I am worried that someone could have deliberately set out to torture an animal.”
We wish Alfie a speedy recovery & thank goodness we have a top class animal hospital right here in Lichfield.
