Renowned for providing the people of Lichfield with numerous beer and wine festivals throughout the year, Lichfield Arts will be bring The Best of Local Brewers to The Guildroom of Lichfield's Guildhall on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August and everyone is welcome.
Featuring a fantastic selection of Real Ales from local breweries plus craft lager and traditional ciders, there will also be the chance to sample a glass of wine, soft drinks, tea, homemade cakes and "Famous Pork Pies".
The Brewers include:
Beowulf – Chasewater
Phil Bennett started brewing in Birmingham in 1996 before moving to Chasewater in 2004. He names his beers after medieval battles, bravery and gallantry. Noted for producing award winning dark beers particularly ‘Dark Raven Mild’.
Blythe – Hamstall Ridware
Rob Greenway set up this small brewery in 2003 following redundancy and has since won many awards. Particular favourites are Palmers Poison, Staffie and Ridware Pale.
Morton – Essington
Gary and Angela Morton set up this brewery in 2007 and quickly had to move to new premises due to demand. Popular beers and Essington Gold and Jelly Roll Morton.
Woodys Cider - Branston
In 2008 Frank Wood semi-retired was concerned about the amount of fruit going to waste. So he brought a miller, made is own press and using local produce established himself as the only Cider Maker in Staffordshire. After the fruit ferments for 12 months it produces a Medium Dry Premium Cider.
Admission
Entry to this is event is FREE - but you must be over 18 to sample or purchase any alcoholic drinks.
