Lichfield Arts are pleased to announce the addition of acclaimed concertina player Steve Turner to the programme for this year’s festival. This talented singer, concertina player and accompanist’s 5th album The Whirligig of Time (2008) featured such esteemed guest musicians Martin Carthy, Nancy Kerr, James Fagan and Miranda Sykes. Nuff said!

Steve will be running a concertina workshop on Saturday 3rd November at 1.00pm followed by a performance in the Guildhall at 2.40pm. Steve will then be performing a second set next door at the George IV next door at 5pm in the interval between the afternoon and evening sessions at the Guildhall.

Also, following the unfortunate closure of The Flamingo Tea Room, the venue for Friday night’s concert featuring the award-winning Lucy Ward has been moved to Wade Street Church Hall, Frog Lane, Lichfield WS13 6HL.

This year’s line-up is set to be one the best yet with over 20 concerts and events playing over the 3 days. Performers include: the world famous Aly Bain, Ale Möller & Bruce Molsky who together perform a rhythmically exciting collaboration on their first British Tour since 2010; Lucy Ward - Horizon Award winner for Best Newcomer at the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards; award-winning duo Jack McNeill & Charlie Heys; the multi-platinum-selling Kieran Goss; and festival favourites, The Roving Crows and Something Nasty in the Woodshed.

Don't miss other talented performers who include: Adara, Lichfield Lighthouse Company, Auriya, Fits, Louise Petit Band, Knoxville Highway, Nick Dalmedo, Kristy Gallacher, Chuck Micallef, and Three Spires Morris & Friends. There are a number of other workshops taking place including Beginner’s Ukelele and Beginners Whistle session (in the Northumbrian tradition).

Come and support your local community event, view some amazing performances and be part of the music and celebration that is the Roots And Folk Festival (RAFF).
