Lichfield Cathedral Toy Appeal
This year all toys will be donated to Lichfield Children and Family Services and will enable the Safeguarding Team to brighten up the Christmas of local children who need help and support this winter.
Each year Lichfield Cathedral warmly invites worshippers as the Christmas tree is lit in front of the building and prayers are said during the St. Nicholas Service at the West Front. In 2011 this service will also include the Toy Appeal and the Cathedral gladly welcome anyone attending to bring a toy along.
This very special St. Nicholas service will take place on Sunday 4th December at 3.30pm and the Dean of Lichfield, the Very Revd Adrian Dorber is asking the members of the local community to bring a new toy to support Lichfield Children and Family Services this Christmas. Please note that only new, boxed toys can be accepted and toys for all ages are welcome. Food parcels are also welcome and need to include dry and unopened foods within the expiration date.
Having lived either in or close to Lichfield for nearly 40 years I've come to love the city very much.
