With a whole host of events and activities planned for the festive season, we'll give you a roundup of all that this historic landmark has to offer this Christmas:
Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November
Kick starting the festivities will be the Cathedral’s candlelit Advent Carol Services at 6:00pm.
Tuesday, 2 December
The return of the popular ‘Songs for a City’, which sees the city of Lichfield come together for a local celebration of Christmas.

5th – 20th December
The Christmas Tree Festival and the Nativity Scenes Exhibition are highlights of the season. For the festival, the quire aisles of the Cathedral will be transformed into an enchanted forest, beautifully decorated by local schools, groups and businesses. Visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite trees, with proceeds going to the Friends of Lichfield Cathedral. The Nativity Scenes Exhibition is a wonderful collection of nativity sets, kindly donated by members of the public.
Saturday 6th December
Back by popular demand, the Festival Food and Gift Fair showcases local and regional craftspeople and produce and will be returning for its second year. Stalls will feature homemade gift ideas, festive treats and delicious food to warm you up. The fair is part of the Lichfield Christmas Festival, and will take place on Saturday 6th December, 10.30 – 16.30. Why not join the Lantern Procession at 4pm from the Cathedrals West End.
Sunday, 7 December at 3pm
The Cathedral will be helping The Gingerbread Centre by appealing for toys suitable for children of all ages, which will be presented to the charity at the ‘Be a gift for Christmas’ service.
18th and 19th December
In the week leading up to Christmas, visitors are being treated to the hugely popular Salvation Army Carols alongside Lichfield Cathedral Chorus and Choir.
Saturday 20th December, 12.00 or 16.00.
Shoppers are invited to take a break and visit the Cathedral for one of two Shoppers’ Carol Services.
Wednesday 24th December
The Family Crib Service at 15.30 is back with a twist this year, as attendees are asked to come dressed as characters from the nativity.
