Lichfield District Council’s Chasewater rangers are leading a guided cycle ride through Chasewater Country Park to celebrate World Health Day on Thursday 7 April 2011.

The cycle ride is free and for all ages and abilities. It will last between one and a half to two hours long.

Cyclists will take in the sights and sounds of the country park - from the heathland and reservoir, to the plants and animals.

The rangers, who will be leading the ride, will be stopping off along the way to point out areas of interest and to talk about the history of the site.

Ellen Williams, Chasewater Country Park Ranger, said: “This is a fantastic time of year to visit Chasewater Country Park as spring flowers are beginning to bloom, and there are plenty of animals to spot. This cycle ride is a fantastic way to see the beautiful scenery and find out more about the country park.”

Anyone who wants to join the community cycle ride will need to bring their own bikes and helmets. However, bikes can be hired on the day from the bike hire shop based at Chasewater - ChaseWaterCycle Ltd.

The ride will set off from outside the Ranger’s Office, next to Chasewater Innovation Centre, at 11am.

For more information, or to book onto the ride, please call Chasewater Country Park’s rangers on 01543 370607 or email chasewater@lichfielddc.gov.uk
