Free dance and art workshops for all ages

Free dance and art workshops open to everyone (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged over 18) begin next Wednesday (25 May) at Chadsmead Primary School, Lichfield. The workshops, which run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, will include developing a choreographed routine and producing the props and scenery needed to build to a performance for the Fuse festival in July. The workshops are part of this year's Fuse Outreach Project run by Lichfield Arts in partnership with Lichfield District Council and North Lichfield Initiative. The final performance will be a part of a larger performance, 'Journeys and Quests', which will take place at Fuse on Sunday 10 July in Beacon Park and will also include children from 12 local schools and other community groups. Workshops in schools have already begun and will continue throughout June.

Fuse Director Tim Perks said “Following last years very successful workshops and performance there were many requests to do something similar again this year but we wanted to make the performance even more visual. People can come along and be part of the dance or, if dance is not their thing, they can help to make the props and scenery needed”.

Further workshops take place at the same time and venue on Wednesdays in June (1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd) and one in July (6th) There is no need to book in advance you can just turn up on the night and all ages are welcome.
