Midnight Trek Training for St Giles Hospice
1st July 2013

If you were in Lichfield on Saturday, 22nd of June you might have found a rather large contingent (871 to be exact) of generally pink fairies in various shapes and sizes!  I would never have guessed that I would be one of them.  But as the evening included a 9 mile walk I thought it would be good training for our Trek in North Vietnam and I might be able to persuade a few more people to part with their money for this very worthy cause.  I had my own personal reasons for doing the Solstice Walk as I lost several close friends to cancer last year.  It was an unforgettable evening and very emotional.  Thank you to all the volunteers who marshalled the event and the people who lined the streets cheering us on.  To cap it all we will hopefully be in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest gathering of fairies in one place, smashing the previous record of 786.  So if you’d like to show your support please make a donation on www.justgiving.com/Debbie-and-David-Phillips

We will be at Lichfield Rugby Club on Saturday 6th of July helping to raise money for St Giles Hospice at their “It’s a Knockout & Family Fun Day”.  There will be lots for all the family to do including a funfair, face painter, magician, rodeo bull, bungee jump, bouncy castle, mini cars, hog roast, refreshments and stalls all for the amazing entry fee of only £1 per car.
