Money for your Local Project

Are you running a project that helps local people and wishing you had a few more resources to make it better?

Help could be at hand. Have you heard about Lichfield District Council's Small Grants Scheme? As the name suggest, the scheme hands out small grants of anything up to £1000 to help fund the work of local not-for-profit groups and organisations. So whether you're running a mother and toddler group and could do with some new toys, or a local youth club and you need some new equipment, or any other worthwhile and not-for-profit enterprise, it could be worth talking to the Council. But hurry, the closing date for applications is 1st December 2009. Grants will be awarded in April 2010.

The scheme has been running successfully for 6 years and hundreds of local groups have benefitted from the grants. Just a few examples are a swiming club for the disabled, a local cyclling club and a social club for people with learning dificulties.

If you're looking for a cash injection and you think you might be eligible, you can download the application form at www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/grants. Or if you want more information give Stephen Lightfoot a call at the council on 01543 308220.

Good Luck!
