More great concerts announced for the Lichfield Festival

They will be the big names of tomorrow, but before play the most famous concert halls in the world with ticket prices to match, you can hear them in intimate church surroundings and for just £10 a concert.

 

There is also a Young Artist ticket offer: book four concerts at £10 each and get the fifth one free.

 

Mariann Rumy is a Hungarian harpist who has been studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music, and she will be playing works ranging from Handel and Bach to Debussy and Saint-Saens.

 

Pianist Alexandra Dariescu was born in Romania and has recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music, where she won all the major prizes. She will be playing music by Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin.

 

Mexican-born guitarist Morgan Szymanski will play music from Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela and Italy, as well as a piece written specially for him by the English composer Alec Roth.

 

Last year the young cellist Jonathan Rees played two of Bach's iconic cello suites. This year Bartholomew LaFollette will play two more.Benjamin studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

 

The second pianist among this year's young artists is James Baillieu, born in South Africa and winner of prestige prizes including one from the Wigmore Hall in London. James will be playing music by Schumann, Gottschalk and Liszt.
