Mum about Town

I always dread coming home from my holiday as I know I am going to have a mountain of washing and ironing, plus I have to go food shopping and to top it off it's always so cold when I get home! And this time was no different.

So first port of call Saturday morning was Tesco's, I would normally avoid it this time on a Saturday but seeing as we had no milk or bread I felt it was a matter of urgency before the children decided to call childlike and report me for starving them!
I actually loathe food shopping and to be honest I think I would happily pay for someone to not only shop for me but also put it all away as well, that's the bit I really hate!
As I had been away for two weeks I thought I would have a walk into the centre as hubby wanted some fresh coffee from Arco. I adore the smell as you walk past, the different fragrances that spill out are so yummy. The down side is they have that many flavours we always end up having two or three different flavours at a time, hazelnut, strawberries and cream and espresso, obviously with a young baby the espresso is very much needed!
Another shop I always love to take a peak at is Cure, I adore the window displays as they are always creative and reflect what is happening in the here and now. I have to admit I try not to walk in too often as I always want to purchase EVERYTHING!!!!! literally. Anna and her team always seem to get the seasons clothes choice just right!
Before I had Harry I have to admit I was a regular in there and it was so helpful to walk in and say Anna, Bev, please help me I have an event and I need an outfit. They had me try things on that I would never normally even think of! Now I have to say I'm impressed if I manage to put an outfit on and it's not covered in baby sick or food ruminants! Oh how life changes. .....
Now what was super interesting is the activity happening in the old Currys /Dixons store? Have you noticed?????
Hmmmm well I hear its going to be FatFace........I personally feel that's fantastic news for the town and will mean not just one less empty shop but also it's a store that will bring more people into Lichfield.
Another great little place I came across this week was Flutterbys Craft Shop based in Curborough Craft Centre. My daughter wanted to learn to sew and make things. Just by chance I noticed on Facebook that Kate at Flutterbys was advertising her Sewing Social class. So off Beth and I went on Wednesday night at 7.30pm to her gorgeous shop, which is a little like an aladians cave. You literally walk in and you can't place your eyes on just one thing, there is so much to see from fabric art to cute little dinosaurs, which I have my eye on, as they were totally adorable!
Upstairs she has a workshop where around 4 ladies and three young adults sat, talking and sewing. It was the best £10 I have spent this week, well worth every penny and Helen from Helen E Lucia was on hand being very supportive with teaching Bethany valuable sewing skills, in fact I might even have a go myself next time!

With the nicer weather here, I have everything crossed that's it going to hang around and we may just make it down to Beacon Park for a picnic next week.........
