Local agencies have come together to offer a free course in paediatric first aid at Armitage with Handsacre Village Hall.
Starting on Monday 3 October 2011, from 1pm to 3pm, the course will run on Mondays for six-weeks.
Looking at first aid for babies, children and young people, the course will include resuscitation, care of an unconscious casualty, shock, burns, asthma and epilepsy, incident management, choking, minor and common injuries and illnesses and more.
Councillor Colin Greatorex, Cabinet Member for Organisational Development and Community, said: “This course is aimed at residents from the Armitage with Handsacre area. It is ideal for parents with children, or anyone who is thinking about a carer in child care. It will be an interesting course, and is a really useful qualification to hold.”
The paediatric first aid course is aimed at anyone who is 19 years of age or over. To book your free place, please contact South Staffordshire College’s enrolment hotline on 01827 304433.
For more information about the course, please call 01827 304337.
A crèche is available, but there are limited places. To find out more, call Rachel Milner on 01889 256007.
