The students from Willows Primary School, Ridgeway Primary School and Queens Croft Community School, learnt a full dance routine and a medley of songs which they performed in the main auditorium.
The three hour session was led by professional singing tutor Gladstone Wilson, and dance teacher Laura Hughes.
Tom Roberts, Lichfield Garrick’s Producer, said: “The performance workshop was a great success. All the kids were really keen to learn about performing, and we hope to run similar workshops in the future.”
Nikki Kinsey, Drama Teacher at Queens Croft School, commented on the day: “It’s been a fabulous afternoon. The children have loved coming to the theatre and performing on a ‘proper’ stage.”
The workshop was organised by the Friends of the Garrick, an independent committee set up to provide financial support and encouragement to young people, who have an interest in music, drama, and dance.
