Phoenix Rising
Following a successful run at this year’s Adelaide International Theatre Festival, accomplished stage, television and film actor Paul Slack brings his ‘powerful one-man tour de force’ to the Guildhall.
In a series of animated snapshots, DH Lawrence reflects on the personalities and events which shaped his early years. This play explores the duality of Lawrence’s tormented life – from his birth to the death of his mother – a period he so vividly fictionalised in Sons and Lovers. Powerful, literary and moving, Phoenix Rising is a colourful portrait of an extraordinary artist at full throttle.
