After being treated for the illness 3 years ago, Julian Webb devised the idea together with his team of Lichfield Round Tablers and he had this to say,

"Following my successful treatment for stage 1 testicular cancer I felt extremely lucky and just wanted to get back to my normal life spending time with my family. More recently I attended the vigil of Stephen Sutton MBE at Lichfield Cathedral and felt very moved and humbled to see what an amazing affect one individual can have on a nation of people. He was a local lad and it was then that I decided the time was right to do something to raise awareness of my particular illness and help other young men catch it early for a better chance of a full recovery."

Testicular cancer affects around 2300 young men every year in the UK between the ages of 18 & 45 which is precisely the same age group of the Round Table membership. With this in mind, the organisation was very quick to support the campaign with all of its members actively involved in pushing the message as far and wide as possible. The campaign is simple and effective and works like this:-

1. Visit www.nutnominate.com and follow the link for instructions about how to check your testicles.

2. Check your testicles - the important bit!

3. If they are ok, take a selfie showing the "OK" sign to say all is well with your testicles. This can be at your desk or in the most bizarre fancy dress costume dangling under a waterfall, it's up to you (preferably with your testicles hidden though!)

4. Post your selfie on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #nutnominate and tag 5 male friends to check themselves and do the same. If you yourself are tagged then start the process again.

Round Table hope to reach as many people as possible nationally and worldwide with the remit being if they can help just one person catch this illness earlier than before the campaign started it will have been a resounding success.

Round Table National President Steve Glaister added "we are really proud and excited to throw the full weight and resources of Round Table behind #nutnominate and I am sure that while having fun, it will also pass on a serious message and will make a huge difference to several young men's lives."

Already developing rapidly on Twitter, the Facebook page goes live on the morning of 9th September so make a note in your diary and remember to #nutnominate.
