To link in with the current exhibition of ‘Johnson & Garrick, a Friendship in Constant Repair’, this summer’s activities are themed around the theatre. Children can let their imaginations run wild making animal masks, harlequin puppets, pop-up theatres, crowns, costume characters and even go to a masked ball, with a different activity every week.
Jo Wilson from the Birthplace Museum said: “We always look forward to welcoming local families to the Museum over the summer and we are looking forward to seeing our young visitors’ theatrical creations”.
The activities start on Thursday 27th July and carry on throughout the holidays until Thursday 31st August. Each session costs just £2 with all materials provided. You can book a place in advance or drop-in on the day.
Standard entrance to the Museum is free for all ages, and free children’s activities including a cat hunt, colouring and costumes for dressing up are available everyday throughout the holidays too.
The Museum is open every day of the week from 10.30am – 4.30pm.
