What is now Staffordshire’s biggest Free community arts festival will take place at Beacon Park Lichfield between July 8th-10th and visitors will be invited to Move it! Make it! Swing it! Shake it! .

The event is run and co-ordinated by Lichfield Arts, and offers something for everyone. This FREE festival has grown in popularity since its early days ten years ago, and last year more than 20,000 enjoyed the festival during its three days.

The festival will feature local and nationally known bands of all genres, the popular acoustic tent for local performers, comedy and spoken word events, children’s entertainers an outreach project involving local schools and other community groups, food and craft stalls, an arts tent, and opportunities for local arts groups to advertise their activities, and a family friendly atmosphere.

Lichfield Arts are now looking for help in organising the festival. They are looking for volunteers to help during the festival, as stewards, or in the lead up to the festival in organising events and offering ideas. A number of fundraising events are in the pipeline, including a sponsored walk with a difference, and a possible musical event in Lichfield city centre, as well as more regular events, such as quizzes and community activities.

Lichfield Arts are also seeking sponsorship from local business and individuals, to sponsor either single events, or an element of fuse, or who might be able to offer help in kind.

Applications are also now being taken from local bands and individuals to perform in the Acoustic tent. See the website at www.fuselichfield.co.uk for full details of the application process.

Tim Perks, Fuse Festival Director said: ‘The Fuse Festival promises something for everyone. We have high quality musicians and performers, workshop tents where everyone can have a go at something new, food and craft stalls, an arts tent, and a great atmosphere, and in today’s climate of cuts to arts funding, it is still a free event, and we can promise audiences new music and experiences that they would not get from anywhere else’.

To volunteer to help, or to offer sponsorship, please telephone Lichfield Arts on (01543) 262223, or email them at: info@lichfieldarts.com  Further information about Fuse will be available from the website atwww.fuselichfield.org.uk and at www.lichfieldarts.org.uk as the festival gets closer.
