This evening (5/3/14) Lichfield District Council declared the first phase of the Beacon Park Skatepark open to skaters.
Still looking a little rough around the edges, landscaping is next on the agenda for the skatepark, where trees and plants will be planted throughout the month of March.
The official opening will take place on April 2014 from 12 noon, followed by a showcase of skateboarding by professional skaters.
Beacon Park skatepark has been funded by section 106 capital, Veolia Environmental Trust, Lichfield City Council, Staffordshire Local Community Fund, and Lichfield District Safer Community Partnership. Lichfield District Council also contributed towards the landscaping.
The skatepark are will be regularly inspected, but if anyone has any concerns, they can contact the council's parks team on 01543 308867 or email parks@lichfielddc.gov.uk
