Cbeebie’s Rebecca Keatley has been confirmed to play Princess Moonbeam in the Lichfield Garrick’s annual pantomime - Sleeping Beauty.
Presenter Rebecca, star of children’s TV show Let’s Play and Time For School will be making her Lichfield debut and is incredibly excited to perform at the Lichfield Garrick.
Rebecca commented: “I’m delighted to be spending the festive season in Lichfield. I’m looking forward to spreading some fairy magic at the Lichfield Garrick and taking part in this spellbinding Christmas pantomime.”
Joining Rebecca is local actor Sam Rabone who joins the cast as Lichfield’s new dame. Sam has a rich history of playing the Dame in pantomime’s across the country, having performed as Nurse Nellie in Yeovil’s production of Sleeping Beauty last year.
Sam Rabone said: “I’m over the moon to play the dame at the Lichfield Garrick! Having travelled the country from Scotland to Somerset, Lichfield is only a stone throw away from my home town of Sutton Coldfield. People of Lichfield be prepared to see a show with more laughter than ever before!”
Sleeping Beauty is the first pantomime at the Lichfield Garrick to be co-produced with Evolution Productions. Led by television presenter Paul Henley and his partner Emily Wood, Evolution is the most successful pantomime company in the country producing spectacular shows throughout the UK.
Sleeping Beauty follows on from the recording breaking 2015 pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. This is the first pantomime under the full direction of Artistic Director, Tim Ford and is already proving to be a popular choice with record breaking early bird sales.
Further cast announcements for Sleeping Beauty will be made over the next few months.
Sleeping Beauty runs at the Lichfield Garrick from 1 to 31 December 2016, with a variety of schools, matinee and evening performances.
