Chasewater Spring Stroll
Saturday 17 March 2012 at 2pm
Lichfield District Council’s Parks Team is inviting everyone to join them on a Spring Stroll of the country park on Saturday 17 March.
Setting off from Chasewater Innovation Centre at 2pm, the guided walk will be a chance to stroll round the reservoir and find out more about Chasewater, including how the council is reintroducing grazing to areas of the Special Site of Scientific Interest.
The walk is suitable for all ages, but the rangers are reminding walkers to wear sturdy boots or shoes. Dogs are welcome on leads.
To celebrate National Tourism Week, which is taking place from 10 to 18 March 2012, the rangers have also listed the event on Visit England’s website at www.visitengland.org.
Ladies’ Spring Taster Bike Ride

Later in March, Chasewater’s Parks Team is joining forces with Breeze – British Cycling, to host two cycle rides for women. Both the guided cycle rides are free and are for women aged 16 and over.
Meeting at Chasewater Country Park, Chasewater Innovation Centre at 10.30am, the gentle cycle rides will take around one and a half hours and will follow designated cycle tracks and the canal.

Breeze is funded by the National Lottery via Sport England's Active Women's Fund and designed to get over 80,000 women back on a bike or riding for the first time. It also aims to convert 20,000 of them into regular cyclists, reversing a trend that has seen 35,000 women drop out of bike riding in recent years.
