Lichfield’s sixteenth Awards for Excellence in Business 

Lichfield’s Chamber of Trade & Commerce is proud to launch its sixteenth annual Awards for Excellence in Business.

Twelve awards will be given out at a glittering awards ceremony at the Lichfield Garrick this July. Award categories range from Best FairTrade business, to Best new business. All the awards are voted for by local customers.  

In addition a special shop assistant of the year award will be given to the person that receives the most votes for having given the best consistent service in their shop.

You can pick up a voting form from local shops and also vote online at

www.cityspeak.info  Votes need to be in by May 28th.

Richard Lewis, President of Lichfield’s Chamber of Trade & Commerce, said: 

“These awards are a great way to show your support and appreciation for your favourite local businesses - from shops, to bars, to community venues and businesses that promote Lichfield. Winning such a prestigious award is a great boost for local businesses, especially in today’s financial climate. Winners and runners up can display their award winning status on their marketing material to help them stand out from the crowd. So, support your local business and get voting!”  

Voting forms are being delivered to local businesses now. Richard Lewis continued: “If local businesses don’t receive any forms by May 9th, they should contact me on 01543 250016.” 

The award categories are:

Best business supporting FairTrade 

Best customer service in an independent shop

Best customer service in a national chain store   

Best customer service at a professional firm (e.g. solicitors, banks, accountants, dentists, doctors etc)

Best new business (less than 2 years old)

Best café or restaurant – daytime

Best restaurant - evening

Best pub or bar

Best entertainment or arts attraction in Lichfield    

Best business supporting the community (e.g. leisure centre, local club, magazine, etc or any business that promotes Lichfield)

Best beauty, hair or nail salon

      and….

Shop assistant of the year

The broadcaster and journalist, John Sergeant, will be on stage at the Lichfield Garrick on 5th July at 7,30pm.The Strictly star will also be presenting the awards later in the evening.
