Will you be cycling to work tomorrow?

National Cycle to Work is championed by multi gold medal winning Paralympic cyclist, Dame Sarah Storey, and aims to encourage people to cycle to work instead of drive, for just one day.

With 760,000 people already cycling to work on a regular basis, it would be fantastic to see these numbers grow.  Can you join in?

According to cycletoworkday.org, there are many ways in which you can make a difference:

  • Promise to get in the saddle on September 4th by pledging miles for cycle to work day here: www.cycletoworkday.org
  • Share www.cycletoworkday.org on your social media pages and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to sign up and get involved.
  • If you know a wannabe cyclist in need of a new bike, let them know about the cycle to work scheme.
  • Ask your employer to get behind the day by offering staff that ride a free coffee and croissant as part of Britains Biggest Bike Breakfast.

Did you know you could get a new bike through a government initiative "The Cycle to Work Scheme".  The scheme enables you to get a brand new bike and safety equipment for your commute to work - all tax free!!!  Interested?  Then visit www.cyclescheme.co.uk/calculator to find out how much you can save and apply online.

In Lichfield, Cycle Rides for All hold monthly cycle rides throughout the area for all abilities.  Check out The Best of Lichfield Events page to see when the next ride will be held!

Cycle Rides for All is run in partnership by Lichfield District Council, Freedom Cycles, Bromford Living, North Lichfield Initiative and Lichfield City Council.
