Olympic Torch Relay
On the morning of Saturday 30 June 2012, the Olympic Torch Relay will be passing through Lichfield District. Thousands of spectators are expected to line the streets as the Flame is carried by torchbearers through the district, and Lichfield District Council is now on the hunt for 100 local volunteers to help make it a day to remember. The volunteers are needed for a range of roles along the four-mile relay route. Roles include route and car park marshals, city ambassadors, and street dressers.
Volunteers need to be 17 years of age or more and to attend a briefing and training session, where the roles will be assigned and explained.
To find out more about the roles and to apply to be a volunteer, please visit www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/olympictorch. The deadline to apply is Friday 11 May 2012.
