I have worked with Louie, from the Best of Lichfield, for several years now, and she has always been very professional, helpful and supportive of my business, and of all local businesses in and around Lichfield. She has an extensive knowledge of all businesses so if you are ever looking for a reliable professional tradesperson, the best restaurant to visit or the best shop to find that special gift, then Louie can definitely help you out and point you in the right direction! Highly recommended! Jono

We visited the Arboretum for the first time on Friday 5th July. So impressed by the immaculate memorials and lawns in tribute to the fallen. It is a beautiful place with very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The picture gallery has an exhibition by Colin Davidson called Silent Testimony done by palette knife which is astounding. The whole experience of the Arboretum from the gardens to the restaurants was a pleasure from start to finish.Thank You.

Fantastic place with so much history. Allow yourself a full day there to be able to see everything. The staff are extremely helpful and informative. There's also a Land Train which provides an excellent opportunity for those who struggle with walking to see everything. It has brilliant spoken commentary too. Parking costs are reasonable for a whole day and the restaurant and shop have plenty to offer too. It's a must visit for all ages.

The memorials are in a beautiful setting and the volunteers who work there are very knowledgeable. I have visted a couple of times now as it is impossible to see all the memorials in one visit and also new ones are being added. Every day there is a minutes silence in the chapel at 11 am. There is a restaurant on site which is value for money and food good. For getting around there is a land train available. An enjoyable, peaceful day out and very educational.

I am glad we managed to fit in a visit to the Arboretum during our weekend break. Unfortunately the weather was not very good so we only stayed about two hours. Walked up to the large memorial on the hill which was very impressive. Did have our lunch in the restaurant which we thought was reasonably priced. If I am ever in the area again I would definitately return and hopefully see a larger area.

In July 2014, PandYUk said about Lichfield Cathedral
This is a large cathedral for the smallest city in England, and the interior is stunning. All the typical attributes are there but there is a fine sense of flow, with wonderful long views and a beautiful ceiling.
The car park is nearby and is a flat walk through pleasant parks with river views. A stroll into the old town - close by - is worth it as there are many pretty shops and quality restaurants to suit most pockets as well as Dr Johnsons house.
Recommended.

In June 2014, Paul H said about National Memorial Arboretum
The Arboretum is very well set out but seems to celebrate WW2 and onwards with not much on WW1, or at least we didn't find it, although there is a tasteful tribute to those Shot at Dawn in that war. A good if expensive restaurant and gift shop and a group of volunteers who were keen to help and advise. The grounds a massive and beautifully kept and the place is still growing. A visit is highly recommended.

With 150 well laid out acres with 400+ memorials ( of which only circa 40% are "military") the land train ride is a must to get a feel for the extent/layout of a moving/remarkable place after which you can "select" where you want to go back to. A visit to the chapel for the daily minute of remembrance silence and introductory talk is also a must .Restaurant and shopping facilities are also excellent
