The 93rd Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders Anti-tank R A.
Was one of the Regiments my father served in W.W 2. (Italy, Palestine)
He and his three brothers all came home.
However so many died so we could live.
When one walks around, it makes one appreciate life..

Playground: For children... Adventure playground.

Restrooms: Yes restaurant and restrooms.

Dog-friendliness: People were walking around with dogs. Must be on a lead.

Picnic area: Plenty of benches and plenty of quiet areas to sit.

What a place! An expertly thought through establishment. A beautifully maintained garden, expanding to 150 acres. For those who can't walk too far. There's mobility scooters for hire.
There's accompanied tours for those who can walk. There's a covered train and buggies as well.
A 45 minute train ride all around the fabulous gardens for £7 ... There's a food restaurant on site too.
All day parking for £6.
It's the best run place I've been to in years.

This is truly a wonderful place to visit, we arrived at lunch time and had a spot of lunch in the restaurant, which served snacks, and hot food at a reasonable price. We had a slow walk around the war memorials , it was so well kept , quiet and tranquil, plenty of benches to sit on and take in this wonderful place, suitable for all. There is a land train you can ride on at an extra cost . we spent a lovely afternoon here but next time we would arrange to spend the day, there is so much to see and well worth a visit.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit. So much to see and take in. The sculptures are epic and it was nice to see so many people from different age groups visiting to help keep the memory alive. The whole place is immaculate. The staff were very knowledgeable and very friendly, restaurant served nice food which was reasonably priced.
Lots of places to sit and reflect and it was respectfully quiet even with children around. Hats off to the staff for all the hard work and the land train is definitely worth a ride.

Beautiful and well maintained arboretum with many great statues, benches installed and trees planted there in memory of those who fought and died in the great wars/world wars. The entry there is free so anyone can enjoy a day out but donation is suggested to keep it in a good shape. Inside the main building there is a restaurant and merchandise shop and outside there is some seating area with tables and chairs. A small road train allows to visit different areas with audio commentary.

this was our second visit, we took our mum & dad, first visit was in winter, not reccomended, this is a fine weather venue really.
The restaurant is good and everything is reasonably priced, the 1100 church service every day is a must.
we went round on the land train, excellent, with commentry, and jump on/jump off facility.
the main armed forces monument is incredible, the sobering bit is seeing the empty walls waiting for names.
everyone should visit this wonderfull memorial.

We visited the Cathedral on a bank holiday. The place was busy but not packed. Very nice welcoming staff at the entrance gave us a leaflet and explained where to go. We were impressed by the carvings and the nave. It looks like a Roman Cathedral from Central Italy (Orvieto if you've ever been). Really amazing glass windows at the end of the nave by the Virgin chapel. Beautiful representations of the life of Jesus. Really a must see place if you are in Lichfield visiting the town or enjoying a meal in one of the restaurants.

A wonderful day's visit. Plenty of interesting things to do and see with every effort made for those who are perhaps unable to walk the considerable distance round the whole site. We took the visitors train which helped us to decide where to walk to later in the day.
The memorials were inspirational and the separate building and exhibition for the War in the Far East was excellent. I was able to trace a relative from the records here which I was delighted with. The Chapel was worth a visit as was the restaurant!

From walking through the door until leaving you are made welcome by all those that work here at the National Memorial Arboretum. My first stop was the restaurant for a full English and I've got to say, sorry wife, but it's the best I've ever tasted.
Then through the door into a vast experience of the gardens. It is a personal time in the gardens and it meant a lot for me.
So when you get the chance please go. It's in memory of lots of individuals who gave the most they could. The upmost Their Lives.
