A warren of rooms give a good idea of Johnson's work, his character and the times he lived in. His wit and wisdom come across from brief quotations displayed throughout. I came away thinking I would love to have met him

We visited under advice from a local. We had a great time, my daughter was learning about the dictionary at school and loved seeing the house, the exhibit on top floor was fantastic. The games for children throughout the museum were great fun.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Only draw back was not selling dictionaries in the shop!

Nice to see the life story of a person who didn't give up easily. Very welcoming staff. Great storyboards and nice to see personal objects on display. Icing on the cake was top floor and seeing all the exposed timbers and construction of the roof. Was great to see the exposed joints etc.Visited on

Great little museum, lots of interesting information, and a real thrill to see lots of objects (a desk, an armchair, a chocolate pot) that belonged to Dr Johnson. Friendly staff who made us feel welcome, and a trail for children.
