The National Memorial Arboretum is a great idea and its lovely expansive landscape, buildings, diverse memorials and settings are so fitting for somewhere to remember.

We have visited here several times as we have a remembrance tile for my Father-in-Law at the Halton Grove RAF Garden. It is lovely to walk around the acres of grounds along the river bank and up to the top of the Armed Forces Memorial, a very impressive monument. Its also worth having a bite to eat or a coffee in the spotless restaurant.

The volunteer staff are very attentive and helpful. We intend to take the Mother-in-Law in the near future and the various on site transport facilities including land train will be very useful to get around the site.

Well done to all. Thank you.

We met friends for the day, so this was a fantastic choice where we could have a leisurely wander and chat. There were loads of benches to rest, and of course, the restaurant and coffee shop for when we were flagging. We started by taking the land train tour, which gave us a good over view to start, then walked to other areas. We were impressed by the space, peace and the enthusiastic staff on hand to help. The grass and gardens were very impressive and well maintained. The memorials were full of interest, thought provoking and sad. What a waste of so many young lives is war. I found the most poignant was the Shot At Dawn area - so sad! None of them over 30 too. Everything was so thoughtfully and well presented, and the detail of the sculptures was amazing.

A beautiful place for reflection and thoughts. It really gives you a sense of the dutiful sacrifices our forces (and others to support them around the world) made for our freedom.

We were made very welcome at reception and by the train drivers Richard and Greg. Richard our (road) train driver took us on a tour around the vast ground of this stunning place, whilst a commentary played informing us of the different memorials. I highly recommend doing this, you can always walk around the grounds in your own time after to gather your thoughts.

The restaurant is clean and spacious and the staff again are friendly and efficient.

I really can't fault this place, please go and support this wonderful National Treasure and remember the sacrifices made and the feel the power of the clear camaraderie.

Five hours flew by and we didn’t see everything on this 150 acre site. Stunning memorials and not all relating to the military but to many other organisations and individuals. We joined in with the short service of remembrance, which happens every day around 11am, followed by an informative talk about the Aboretum. There are inside exhibits and the one about the role of tattooing in the military was particularly interesting. There’s a great restaurant and a smaller coffee shop to be enjoyed.
Mobility vehicles and a train ride are available, as it’s a large site. The actual armed forces memorial in the centre is impressive with some amazing statues. All staff are friendly and informative, mostly volunteers and so knowledgeable.
Everyone should go and be moved by Remembrance.

I’ve visited the NMA scores of times and I always learn something new. Recently I went on the very informative Far East walking tour round the relevant memorials.
This visit I learnt about the fighting in WWll round Kohima Imphal. I would strongly recommend visiting the NMA and also checking the daily walks and talks with the excellent guides. Thank you to the many volunteers.

Pay £3 to park. Free to enter but please donate. Restaurant and coffee shop good value. There are hard paths round the memorials but I often want to walk on the grass to see a particular one. It’s low lying and gets very wet after heavy rain. I wear waterproof walking boots.

I have visited the NMA many times and never tire of the opportunities it gives in every season to enjoy the beautifully maintained grounds and learn about the history behind the memorials which we all have a connection to. The VJ Walk which we went on today was excellently presented by a volunteer who really brought this less well known part of World War II to life and I would thoroughly recommend it. The Covid 19 procedures were well organised in the visitors centre with lots of hand-sanitiser everywhere and a high standard of cleanliness. We chose to sit in the restaurant for a meal and were escorted to and served at well spaced tables although the fish meal was disappointing and not up to the usual standard.

My wife had wanted to visit this for sometime so we went earlier in the week whilst on a staycation in the Peak District - we were not disappointed.

A must visit place to go - beautifully designed and maintained and the depth of the memorial truly humbling.

The Far East PoW area just very moving.

The various memorials to varying regiments police nursing depts etc just astonishing - all very moving indeed.

We were lucky with the weather.

The restaurant where we stopped for a drink clean with good service and value.

Given Covid 19 etc this was well organised hassle free and a pleasure to visit and spend time there.

It should be made mandatory for all to visit especially school children.

Went here last wk end, first thing I didn’t realise how big the place was dispose this I think you need a couple of visits to cover the whole site properly
I found the areas which I was looking for and paid my respects
It is an amazing place to visit
If you pay you can ride a train around a lot of the site and you get a comentry as you go around the site, they also have mobility scooters that can be booked for you to use as well

Has a restaurants on site with hot cooked food, slightly disappointed the bacon rolls finish along with the breakfast at 1130
Personally I thought it was a tad expensive

There are people outside that can help you and give you direction as well as on the inside

On the whole a very good day out

I first visited this place during Remembrance Day; however, the weather beat my family off, so I had to return to see the rest of the memorials.

This memorial site is amazing it's well set out and you can spend all day there walking around all the different memorials. Dogs are welcome in all areas apart from the Armed Forces Memorial. There is a train that takes you around if you are not a mobile as some and golf buggies that yo can hire.

The restaurants and shops are great and offer a wide range of food and gifts. The staff and volunteers are really passionate about what they do and will always help. Check when you arrive as there are often short talks at set points and memorials throughout the day that are well worth attending.

I highly recommend this place

Was very impressed by the peace and tranquility here. Well laid out and thought provoking. We took advantage of the land train tour (wheelchair accessible).... excellent commentary all round the route and it lasts for about 3/4 hour or so. Can get off at any point on the tour and walk back if you want. The whole site is mobility friendly and there are motorised scooters available for those less able. Restaurant and coffee shop were bright and airy with snacks, choice of cooked meals, cakes etc.. There are good toilet facilities and a Royal British Legion shop. The guide book at a cost of £5 is well worth the cost and makes for good reading. The staff and volunteers were very knowledgeable and friendly, and it was interesting to talk to them.
