Free entry, but pay-to-park (£6 today)
Lots of memorials and dedication plaques for those killed or wounded in action for Queen & Country. (What would you expect!)
Very mixed emotions. Reasonably tranquil (bar the trains on the Burton line) and peaceful to promote reflection. Wonderful selection of wildlife (terns, wagtails, oystercatchers, demoiselle mayflies, cuckoos) and the rewilding of former gravel pits.
We went on the Jubilee Thursday, so the West Midlands Police brass band were playing a very odd selection of tunes. Capped off by the Avro Lancaster flying overhead on its way back from the celebrations in London.
And reasonably dog friendly. Yes, they must be on leads at all times and aren't allowed on the Armed Forces Memorial barrow.
Great day out.

A great place to visit but have comfortable shoes as a lot of walking is involved but we'll worth it.

Very moving experience, shame the weather was poor, would have loved to see more on a walkabout, train was very good and staff all round were extremely helpful,
