What a beautiful, thought provoking and poignant place. I met up with a friend and our dogs on a blustery January afternoon.
We spent nearly 3 hours wandering around the different memorials, reading the information and looking at the small plaques dotted everywhere, each dedicated to a loved one.
The information about the Shot at Dawn memorial was heartbreaking, and when we walked to and around the memorial, the posts with the individual names….their ages…..well, I am not afraid to admit it brought me to tears.
There were large areas and many memorials we didn’t have time to view, so we will most definitely return, hopefully in warmer weather.
The staff we encountered were so friendly, especially the gentlemen who we chatted with at the huge Armed Forces Memorial, in particular the tall gentleman who kindly looked after our dogs whilst we went to have a look.

Perfect place to visit for families ..food is good, staff vvvvv friendly... £4 to park all day but free entrance...visit...it's worth it

Has good walking routes for those with dogs. Staff met us outside the front as could see we had a dog and provided a map for routes are dog could take, I thought this was helpful and considerate.

Enjoyed a fabulous afternoon with my father in law at the National Memorial Arboretum. From the moment we arrived the staff and volunteers made us feel extremely welcome and everyone was so helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Pat and Penny for sharing their knowledge 🙂
