I love looking at historical buildings, whether they are religious or otherwise and i do like a good cathedral. Lichfield was a very beautiful building with some lovely stained glass windows inside. One of the positives was that while walking around with my son, the vicar stopped and spoke to me, normally when this happens in a religious space, i feel like they are trying to force religion on me, in this instance this wasn't the case. I had a lovely chat about my son and why we were visiting without any mention of religion at all. While we were inside the cathedral at midday the vicar asked all inside to stop for a moment of contemplation - offering you the chance to pray if you chose. Again I really respected this as nothing was forced upon you, but also allowed for a moment of quite reflection in a hectic life.

We had wanted to visit the Cathedral in Lichfield for some time; we spent several hours walking around both inside and out - many historic shrines, gorgeous windows and a sense of countless pilgrim feet having visited. If, one day, the exterior is cleaned of all the grime of cnturies, it will be a truly awesome, amazing building!!

We've never visited this cathedral before and, whilst it was very beautiful and historic, we found it to be a little drab and in need of a good clean. We understand that this is not a small task, but the building would benefit hugely. There was rather a lot going on during our visit - presumably preparations for the Easter services - but it was not really a very restful experience.

I go to the Cathedral School in Lichfield and go for assembly every Monday and Wednesday. It is a lovely building with a passage we call the secret passage which is a staircase to a small chapel. Overall it is a great weekend visit for anyone who is local.

Very impressive and worth a visit. Our only gripe is that although no charge is enforced, donations are expected and requested on entrance.

An hour well spent in the evening sunshine examining the fantastic sculptures on the west front with the help of the excellent laminated guide sheet available from the cathedral shop. Stained glass is impressive especially the 5 panels of the east end.

social distancing, masks, visors marks on the floor, hand gel, signs, name taken all in place. Not to busy very pleasant lady took our order and contactless payment. then brought the wrong order, forgot my orange juice, brought coffee, didnt bother to offer tea spoons,or cutlery, she did chuck a couple of sugars on the table, which she fished out of her apron pocket. To be fair food was fine, well cooked Farm shop was excellent pork really good.My husband not pleased with ready cheap margarined bread, although butter was also on the side of his plate.
