this is a real must see place the atmosphere is something else so so moving the act of remembrance is carried out everyday at 11am and the grounds are just beautiful and beautifully cared for. The garden for the men shot at dawn is really moving the trees look so ghostly its hard not to visit and be moved.

I didn't know what to expect on my 1st visit here as was slightly apprehensive. I found it very humbling to visit but am glad that I did. I was surprised how vast the Arboretum was. It was very well laid out with easy access to all points.

I visited yesterday with my parents and Aunty . It's a wonderful place of remembrance . A wreath laid by the wall made us all emotional . It was for a 21year old soldier killed last year in Afghan : it was from his three week old daughter he never met !!!
The whole area is worth a visit (using the train makes it easier) as every part of the arboretum is amazing and a real credit to everyone who works there .

I went the national arboretum in alrewas Staffordshire and what an amazing and very sad place it is to visit also very interesting as well there is plenty to see as well all the names on the great wall of all persons we have lost in the wars from all round the world there is plenty to see in lovely surroudings places to eat gift shops staff are helpful so go and visit and see for your selves

Can't wait to go back. I understand a lot of work has been done since my visit including the cafe area.
Such a very interesting day anyway. Particularly moved by the memories in the Japanese section.

My wife and myself visited the site on a very busy Sunday, we found a large car park near the welcome centre. On entering we were greeted by a very polite and enthusiastic member of staff who explained how we could see the whole park and find all the areas of interest to us.
We took a ride on the land train
( To be recommended ) which takes you around the full park with commentary so not to miss anything.
After our ride we set off on foot to spend moor time in the areas that meant something to us.
Even though there is a lot of work going on at the moment 14/2/2016 the park is still a beautiful and peaceful area.
Most of the pathways look to be in good condition and there seems to be plenty of ramp access for disabled visitors.
We had our lunch in a temporary restaurant, the food was hot and tasty and I believe the whole experience will improve when the building work has finished. The plans looked great !
We are looking forward to revisiting the Arboretum in the future when next in the area

This is a little gem, with so much past history that we may tend to forget about. The dedication on how this place is run and the events that take place is amazing. On a more sombre note, the exhibition on how POW's in WWII were treated is just sobering and your hearts go out to them all. Such an informative place.

I called in just to see what it was all about, I have no real affinity with the military and war but found this whole thing quite moving. It is a respectful and dignified way of celebrating the lives of so many lost souls .

We had a lovely visit to National Memorial Arboretum, was nice to walk around and reflect. Is impressive the use of space and sections. Will be good when the new visitor centre is completed later this year.

Amazing memorial. Interesting and emotional. Much much larger than expected. Well run, lovely cafe. The actual memorial is undergoing renovation at the moment (Feb16), but the grounds and other memorials arevstill worth seeing!! Recommend.
