Absolutely awe-inspring outside and so beautiful inside. We felt immediately warmed by the ambience in this wonderful example. Free entry but there are lots of points where you can make a donation. It is in such a lovely area too with lots of things to visit an places to sit and just admire for a while. The Pond and Beacon Park are within wandering distance and if you tire of all the marvellous history - the busy and interesting town is nearby. It is the best cathedral we have visited by a long shot.

Visited the cathedral last Monday. It was not busy. The outside of the building is rich in gargoyles and statues. inside are things more quiet when it comes to decorations. Something tells me lots of things have been destroyed during the reformation. It is still a beautiful interior with lots to see

Perhaps the most serene cathedral we've ever visited, even with a service going on. Tremendously beautiful architecture, fun to spot the features such as hidden doors and corridors at window levels, and fascinating treasures in the Chapter House. Will return for the Library tour I think.

Well worth visiting Lichfield, just to go to the cathedral. a lovely atmosphere (even to someone who's not religious), beautiful stained glass and plenty to read and reflect on.

Beautiful Cathedral. Plenty of parking near by. Lichfield is worth spending a whole day at. The gardens, shops and resturants surrounding the Cathedral make for a good day out.

Stopped off in Lichfield on our journey home. Saw the signs for the Cathedral and Wow... It's absolutely stunning, the stonework on the outside is unbelievable.
Went inside and spent around 1/2 hour looking at all of the beautiful stained glass, wood and plasterwork.
Coming from the North East I can honestly say this gives York and Durham Cathedrals a run for their money.
A hidden gem.

Beautiful cathedral. Well I would be biased as I graduated there in 2008. Surrounding grounds and the city of Lichfield are another reason to go.

A very interesting Cathedral. Larger than anticipated and we really needed more time to do it justice. Especially the Chapter House. Fascinating displays that were brought to life by an excellent Cathedral guide. Worth researching the Staffordshire hoard and their ancient book on the internet.

Came to Lichfield on business and was delighted to find this amazing cathedral... we toured the inside and out and was just amazed. People have been worshipful there for over 800 years... there was also a major battle that took place here. The details inside and out were spectacular. There are some great places to get beautiful pictures from.
