Found this national centre for remembrance an excellent place to visit. It is free entry (£3 for car parking) with various talks by the onsite volunteers throughout the day. Every day at 11am there is a service and 2-minute silence in the beautiful chapel. It is a large site with plenty of walking involved so remember to wear sensible footwear. The central cenotaph to military personnel that have passed away on service since 1945 to be a poignant tribute. In addition there are numerous memorials right across the Arbortium. I attended two young children who are not particularly interested in history but both found it very enjoyable. There are cafes for refreshments on site.

Very well kept gardens but unless you're visiting for the memorial part you won't find much else here

I you were a serviceman/woman or a family member then it is the place to visit & reflect on those that were injured or died in the service of your/their country. The Arboretum is well laid out & is a fitting place to spend the day. The food at the cafeteria is worth a visit as is the various displays on the site. I felt a sense of piece & pride remembering my fallen comrades & will visit on a more regular basis in the future.
