Brill time second visit for remembrance day peacefull place made a bit more emotional due to the day would like to thank 1 service man for his decorum and politeness to a wanna be veteran in the bus cue after a couple of questions to a man in the cue and it seemed pretty clear that the man had never served in the forces but wore a uniform the soldier reminded him of the importance of the day and why it was so important then politely requested he did not do it again cool calm and spot on a big thank you to you all

I visited the arboretum with my husband after a night in Birmingham. We found the various memorials very moving. The names on the giant walls are of all those who have died serving their country since the second world war but there are all sorts of memorials and trees dotted around the grounds. I was particularly moved by the "shot at dawn" shed. Names and stories about the poor lads (one as young as 16 as he lied about his age to go and fight for his country) who were shot by their own side after deserting their duties because of illness - we know it as shell shock. There is a cafe and information centre. Well worth a visit.

Lovely walk round, we did the stick man trail, a wonder around the grounds and then the children's play park while waiting for the Tornado's final flight

Very moving Military Memorial site. Groups of memorials and personal memorials scattered around the site. Visitors Centre is very welcoming. Good facilities with a good shop and tea & coffee facilities and parking. Large site to explore, so allow plenty of time for your visit. Good facilities for corporate meetings also.
