Grade 1 building from 1707 /8. Only problem has stairs to match.
It has 4 floors with lots of detail and information about the rooms.

On a visit to Lichfield Cathedral we stumbled across this wonderful small Museum. Situated in the centre of the town this Georgian house, birthplace of Samuel Johnson provided a charming and informative addition to our day.
The staff were really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this free attraction.
Well done Lichfield.

Free access, multi floor building, once home to the author of the dictionary. Scenes recreate what living was like in the house at the time of Johnson. DVD narrates history. Many books available to browse and kids can dress up on the top floor. Excerts from the dictionary and Johnson's quotes adorn the wall. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's very easy to be lost in educational thought in this fine place, whilst meeting Johnson and his friends; zero pence, well spent.

More fantastic history in Lichfield. See the birthplace of the 1st dictionary's author. See how he lived as a child, his subsequent history and be transported back to the past. A treasure hunt for kids too!

Its a bookshop
Thats a winner for a start off.
The history is displayed in a great way with av presentations and guides. Much effort is put into.this place. One snag is steep steps. Thats due to its age. Part of its history
