Although it was very cold when we went, it is a fabulous place. There are loads of memorials to lots of different groups serving this country during time of strife. There are loads of volunteers to help you, they are friendly and knowledgeable and the restaurant serves really good food and drink at a reasonable price. The place has mobility scooters to hire, a chapel as well as activities laid on throughout the year. We will definitely return later next year.

An interesting and humbling day out. Very modern, clean facilities, good restaurant and very friendly, helpful staff. I would recommend taking the Land Train and at £5 gives you value for money in seeing a lot of the site - after which you may wish to revisit some of the memorials at your own leisure.
£3 gives you all day parking with no entrance fee, but a donation will help keep this site open.

Pros : Large parking with a charge but all monies go to the site
A large restaurant cafe with good food/ a shop with poppies to buy
A huge site with many memorials which give you a feel for the lives lost over the years
Planting of trees will get better year on year .
Was it worth visiting ? A moving place with a sense of peace and tragedy. Enjoyed it very much. Everyone should visit

A first visit for us to the National Memorial Arboretum, and what a lovely day it was, bringing back some very poignant memories. We took the Land Train (which lasted for around 45 minutes), and then walked all the way around after that. Had a drink in the restaurant afterwards, everywhere is spotless, and the staff very helpful. Entry is free, although there is a £3.00 parking charge which lasts all day. Donations are worth making.

The National Memorial Arboretum has been transformed over the years and is a place of contemplation and peace. Visiting and placing a cross at the foot of a loved ones name brings tears and also thoughtful memories. The staff and volunteers are doing their very best. In time I pray the Restaurant could be made a more cosy retreat rather than the 'battleground' it is at present. Do realise many many people to serve. Still will return I hope.

I stopped off at the NMA on a long cross west/east journey and really didn’t know what to expect. After a wholesome lunch in the restaurant I set out for a stroll around singling out the Naval Services Memorial and the Polish Memorial for my hour stay. I was completely overwhelmed by the memorials and the sense of dignity. The facilities are excellent too and all the staff helpful and courteous. Our country should be proud.

We’ve just got back from a really great day at the national memorial. After a coffee in the cafe we had booked the land train(you don’t have to book but I would again. A really good way to see around this vast space and to listen to the commentary and a useful way to plan the rest of the day. After a nice meal in the restaurant we the picked out a handful of memorials to revisit. A fabulous day but can be a little tiring.

We had prebooked tickets for the land train, so had to go despite the rain. We were in time for the 2 minute silence, held every day, and then had our train ride. Despite the rain, it was good - very helpful in getting an overview of the arboretum. After lunch in the 'restaurant', the rain had stopped, and we were able to walk to some of the memorials we wished to see. However, the ground was sodden, and there were huge puddles everywhere, so we didn't stay as long as we had hoped.

We went on a clear cold February Day.
The train wasn't running but we were lucky enough to be driven by John on a Golf Cart.He was incredibly knowledgeable know a variety of facts.
The various memorials are truly inspirational and thought provoking.
The use of wood in the public areas ties the whole Arboretum together.
Restaurants were of a good standard with lots of choice.
Well worth a visit.
