We went as we were touring the area, so glad we did. Our visit coincided with the 35th Anniversary service for the Falklands war so we saw the Royal Marines Band and the veterans which added to the poignancy. We also took a buggy tour (NB it is a huge site) our guide Susan was first class there is also a tram tour which covers different areas. There is so much to take in you really need a day at the least. There is a self-service restaurant which is good quality and a coffee shop.

We had wanted to visit for some while, we choose to make the long journey when August was at its wettest. But somehow this added to the atmosphere of this place. So many emotional sights. It's hard to explain the feelings, a visit is essential. The volunteers are fantastic, ready to guide and explain whenever needed. The service at eleven was beautiful and very well attended as I'm sure it always is. The restaurant is clean and bright and the food very good. Again such lovely volunteers. One day we will return.

We just did not know what to expect but were "blown away" by the number (350, I think) and quality of the memorials. Some very harrowing displays in the "Far East" section but they have to be seen.
We booked seats on the land train and were so glad we did as this is the only way to see all the memorials and know the history of them via the running commentary.
Brilliant day out which we finished by taking refreshments in the superb restaurant.

This memorial is a must see,everyone who can should visit.It is beautifully laid out and the thought that has gone into each and every memorial is breathtaking.It is very spacious so you can wander around and not feel rushed to move on.There is ample parking and a very good restaurant and lots of places to eat if you want to take a picnic.
There is also a land train for visitors who have mobility problems,very useful indeed.
The main memorial is stunning but also sadly poignant.

Have been here on a few occasions with my husband who was in the services, for various memorials. Beautifully kept and a reminder of all the men and women who fought for our country. Lovely to walk around, or you can take the small train which runs around the Arboretum with commentary as you go. They have a good café/restaurant and there are now buses which run to and from the Arboretum into Tamworth, Burton and Lichfield. I was able to leave my husband for a few hours with his comrades, whilst I took a bus to Burton for a couple of hours.

A great place to visit in fantastic grounds. Plenty of space to walk around and accessible for all abilities and disabilities. Great restaurant facility. Guided tours excellent and knowledgeable volunteers. Small car park charge but free to enter so it's only fair to make a donation. Such a fabulous place to remember those who have given their lives so freely for us. Thank you and to those who give up their time freely to keep the National Arboretum going strong!

Visited for the annual memorial service at the Army Apprentice Memorial. This was the first time I had visited this place and I was STUNNED. It is so big that you would need several visits to actually see all the memorials. It is such a beautiful place to just wander round and the memorials are wonderful.
The main entrance has all the ammenities you could wish for, a souvenier shop,toilets and a fantastic restaurant.
There are plenty of things to see and do and staff always on hand to help you.
For anyone with or without a military background this is a MUST SEE

I came on a rainy day but this did not really impact my visit. The car parking is £3 which is fair and they only ask for donations to enter. The restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price. I covered most of the site in about two hours and found the central memorial to be a very fitting tribute to all those who have passed on active service since 1945. The shot at dawn memorial was quite moving. Overall, a good half day out.

10/10 would recommend bradshaws, an all time favourite breakfast spot for me. Plenty to choose from and the food is all fresh and tasty! The atmosphere is great in the restaurant, can be busy at times but what good restaurant isn’t? I would say the only downfall is it is a bit on the pricey side however it is warranted with the quality of food you get therefore it is only a treat basis for me but would still definitely recommend. The shop here is also 10/10, lots of choice and variety and the staff are always there with a smile on their face to help you with whatever it is you need.

Everyone should visit this place. Unfortunately we had limited time. 10am -2pm. We were welcomed by an extremely helpful lady. Firstly we did the buggy tour. Our guide, a CDT teacher, was fantastic. His knowledge and delivery excellent. As time was limited we then did the land train tour. It was also wonderful with an excellent commentary. The various memorials and the grounds have been so carefully and imaginatively thought out it is a must see. Finally we enjoyed a tasty lunch in the restaurant. We needed more time.
