A oasis calm and tranquillity to remember those who lost their lives in conflict and serving the community. Access is easy and well signposted from the A38 just north of Lichfield. It is easy to navigate either on foot or on the 'road train' that tours the site. There is a good visitor centre with self-service restaurant.
Admission is free but there is charge for parking.
A small word of warning the area tends to be quite exposed on windy days so wrap up warm to enjoy your visit!!

Took the train round the site which gave us a good overview and helped us decide which areas merited a closer look. It's beautifully laid out, rather reminiscent of a military cemetery but with trees and memorials in place of headstones. The restaurant offered good value meals and the staff were friendly and helpful. I went particularly to see a bronze statue to the Land Army and Timber Corps and I took an elderly aunt whose sister has a memorial tree in one of the areas of the park. That was easy to find and the staff provided instructions and reference number.

An extremely interesting place. You have a very happy time but also is a sad and very thought provoking place. The memorials are displayed around a vast area, a lot of walking....wear comfortable shoes and clothes. There is a train that goes around the memorials and also electric scooters available ( do not know if they have to be pre booked or if there is a charge). Royal British Legion now manage the Arboretum.
There is a Chapel that is also good to see.
A restaurant is on site and although I have only had tea and cakes, the hot food looks delicious.

Unlike any other war commemorative sites this is uplifting rather than sombre. Historically interesting, and beautifully laid out. It is vast so take advantage of the land train with its informative commentary which makes everything come alive. There is information about the trees as well as the memorials. The talk in the Chapel is also informative
The restaurant is good, varied selection of food, well cooked and reasonably priced.

A wonderful memorial place to the fallen. There are about three hundred and eighty memorials to see. The memorials cover a large area, so there is a lot of walking involved. However, for visitors unable to walk around, there is a train that takes people around the site. The talk given by a staff member, at the Shot at Dawn memorial was interesting. In fact, staff around the site are happy to talk, and provide information about the memorials. The grounds are lovely. Dogs are allowed. There is a restaurant and coffee shop. There is also a shop selling goods which was somewhat overpriced. Entry is free but donations are welcome. Definitely worth a visit.

My wife and I had been meaning to visit for ages and we are both glad we did. We found it all very moving on a glorious September day. AS the site is so large,we decided to take the train around the arboretum as other people have recommended on Tripadvisor. This gives a good insight with commentary and we were glad we did it. WE spent the whole day here walking around after the train trip and have still not managed to see it all. Will definitely be returning to take in the rest. There is also a restaurant and shop to visit. The guides are very helpful and knowledgeable too

Four of us visited in July on a really hot day. It was enormous and we must have walked for hours. It covered every aspect of all the wars worldwide, nobody was forgotten even Deserters that were shot at dawn and Post Traumatic Stress victims were honoured too which was particularly moving for me. Trees had also been planted for personal bereavements. The carvings were magnificent. It is somewhere we will spend another day visiting as a very humbling and moving experience. There were two types of restaurants.

My partner and I had always wanted to visit here so being a nice morning we actually visited this attraction. Parking was only three pound (bargain). You have the opportunity to go on the small cart which takes you around, ideal for people not able to walk long distances. There was so many memorials to see which we think we visited them all, even though it was busy it seemed very tranquil walking around. There is also a restaurant and gift shop. A pleasant day out, well worth the visit

This is a very worthwhile place to visit. Large area, well laid out and an excellent tribute to those who have served and saved our country . Cost of entry is £3 per car for parking and this allows entry to the many acres of well kept gardens and memorials. There is a good cafe , large restaurant and outside sitting areas. Regular trips around the grounds in a small train or large golf type buggy are available at a fee and are good value. The chapel and galleries are well worth visiting . This is a beautiful calm relaxing quiet place,

This is a very special place for me and so many people. I’ve been here for so many events and occasions, but still my favourite thing to do is either come on a normal day, and have a walk.
Whether it’s to reflect, relax or to just look around at the vast amount of memorials on this huge site… it’s perfect for solos, partners, families and dog walkers too.
Also has a nice little exhibition hall just off the entrance behind the reception area, plus there is the restaurant and on site gift shop.
