Wonderful, uplifting experience. Great idea not to charge admission fee - just £3 to park the car for all day. Grounds are beautifully kept and NO LITTER! Been a few times, both with my other half and with the family when they come to visit and we are never bored - so many memorials, so much history, and every time that we visit there are additional memorials to see. Only 1 gripe - restaurant is expensive for what is offered and as many people go there before leaving, we feel that this may have a negative impact on donating further - the donation boxes are positioned after you visit the restaurant.

Visited here on the 13th November as part of a coach party, didn't quite know what to expect having visited a large number of WW1 battlefields but from our arrival onward we were made welcome, reception was the only wait we had as there was only one receptionist working but otherwise all good. The restaurant was very impressive with loads of choice and all reasonably priced. The train was well worth booking as it gave us a really good idea of what the arboretum is all about, in all a really moving experience. Our thanks to everyone for the help and respect shown to my Wife and myself.

This is not our first visit and will not be our last, beautiful grounds, memorials and thought provoking information. Very helpful staff and volunteers. Plenty of walks, many places to sit and take in the beauty of the place. Both the restaurant and coffee shop serve good food and drinks at a quite reasonable price but like most places today the cakes are rather expensive. £3 per day car parking a snip, well laid out car park close to the entrance too. We only managed to see a small part of this wonderful place but will be back later in the year. Please allow plenty of time to take it all in.

Came here with family and a couple of American friends. Car parking is £3 all day. Entrance to the grounds is free. Went to the 11 o'clock service in the chapel, that was quite poinient. Then went for a ride on the train to get an over view of the site. Saw most of the large monuments. The we had a picnic lunch outside the restaurant. After that we walked upto the main memorial in the centre and saw how many people died in just a year! The we tried to find the RAF Locking Apprentice Memorial and failed ;(, Still there is always next time.

Outstanding dedication to our fallen heroes. The Shot at Dawn, brings to mind how the world has changed. The memorial is thought provoking.
We spent the day at the NMA. The restaurant serves amazing fresh home cooked food, and amazing deserts. Ceoliac heaven!! Truly delicious. The restaurant staff are very kind, caring and compassionate.
Car park is not free, but you can prebook for reduced rate. Cannot understand why people complain. It is a charity!!! Where else can you take a whole family and pet for Free!!! Everyone should support the NMA. It is a beautiful place. A national treasure. Thank you.

We visited the Garrick Theatre last Saturday to see The Full Monty. This was our first visit and not knowing the theatre or Lichfield we thought it would be nice to have a pre performance evening meal. We telephoned prior to our visit and reserved a table. We were totally disappointed. The Green Room ( the only room to eat in) was a real let down. The lay out was more like a small work's canteen and the menu fell short of anything resembling a pre evening performance dinner. It was just hopeless. Because we had arrived at the theatre early, we were able to rush out and find lovely restaurant . As for The Full Monty it was very amateurish. In all a totally disappoint evening spent at The Garrick Theatre Lichfield . Never to be repeated.

The Arboretum is beautiful, a green and wooded place with wonderful memorials for those who have given their lives for others. The Military, the Police, the Fire Service, the Coastguards and Civilians. Everyone should visit. The facilities are also very good. On this year's Armed Services Day a buggy bus was donated by the Motorbike Community so disabled can be driven around the inspiring Memorial, set above an impressive flight of steps, to those who have died in combat. There are also land trains that can take visitors around the spacious site. The restaurant offers cooked meals and snacks. You can take a your own food and eat in the grounds. There is no admission fee to the Aboretum.

A very special place. My wife and I explored only half of the memorials which are very varied and range from amusing to emotionally challenging. We place a RBL cross there each November in memory of my wife's grandad who perished near Ypres in January 1915, my father who was probably the only ski troop to serve in Burma!, and to my mum who was in the ATS.
Good to see school parties learning our history.
Excellent restaurant for lunch and very helpful staff, most of whom are volunteers. Dog friendly and good facilities for the less able. Playground and plenty of picnic spots by the river.
Make it a must visit if not a pilgrimage.

Really interesting place to go to walk around read & see information on the atrocious actions of war and conflict. Guided walks approx 45mins informs you of what happened within this area (armed services,navy, airforce, etc). A large environment to remember & reflect on what man has done/is doing to each other. Activities for children, café & restaurant on site. Could spend the day here without any problems. Lovely gift shop with a good selection of products. Donation boxes around some of the exhibitions. Staff efficient and friendly. Well worth a visit.

INCREDIBLE!!!! Loved visiting with my WI. We booked a 2 course lunch, which was held in a separate room to the self-service restaurant. The food was delicious and service was fantastic.
I had three favourite areas -
The SOS memorial garden as this are has been created by volunteers, beautiful!
The Tank regiment memorial purely because my father was in the 4RTR Tank Regiment, so it bought back all my childhood memories.
The Shot at Dawn area was incredible, we had one of the guides take us there, he told us some incredible facts.
The National Memorial Arboretum left me with some lasting memories and emotions. Amazing!
