A place for reflection, hope and to remember lost loved ones. A beautiful place to walk around. Somewhere everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime, maybe then there would be less names added in the future.

Beautifully kept grounds in keeping with the peace and tranquility of the reason for its existence. How lovely to spend some time in thanks for all those who gave everything for what we have today.
Let us hope that world problems will ease and eventually those that need to will see sense and no more memorials are required.

Such a beautiful place to visit. Honouring so many in one venue. Always clean, and peaceful even when very busy! We visit often and there's always a new Monument to see.

In May 2024, Denise Dawson said about J. Howell & Daughters Ltd - Lichfield Funeral Directors
It is such a sad time when you've lost someone you love but the help, support and professionalism provided by Jonathan and his daughters made a difficult day go as well as it possibly could. Their kindness and compassion shown throughout was exemplified by even small personal touches such as - my dad was a steam train enthusiast and Jonathan and his team organised putting up a wall monitor in the chapel showing a picture of a steam train crossing a viaduct so emotional but so apt and thoughtful - my dad would have loved it. My mum, sister and I wanted to show our appreciation for everything they did for us; we really didn't have to worry about anything - everything was taken care of and it all went incredibly smoothly. We therefore want to say a huge heartfelt thank you to them.  We are so glad we chose this company and can't recommend them highly enough.

Now retired, I have discovered that there are some excellent small museums in this country. The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum must be right up there with, for example, 78 Derngate in Northampton, and other hidden gems of these islands.
The museum is housed in the old Johnson family home on Breadmarket Street. On the ground floor is a very good bookshop, incorporating a gift section. The three floors above cover Johnson’s life from childhood to death - including his dictionary and life in London. To say that the staff were knowledgeable on their subject is an understatement. I left wanting to know more about ‘Dr Johnson’ and the Georgians. As a result, I am planning a visit to the capital to explore ‘Dr Johnson’s London.’
If you are coming to Lichfield, then this museum is a must visit.
