My partner and I visited the arboretum today (Tuesday 8th October). We arrived at the opening time and spent a total of 4.5 hours there. We saw the majority of the memorials making it all the way to the end of the site to see the Great War Christmas Truce memorial. Of course there were undoubtedly some we missed as there is so much to see and appreciate. It was a beautiful place of reflection and one I’d been wanting to visit for some time.
One of the guides/ team at the arboretum whose name badge was Malcolm Adam’s was really friendly and informative. We first bumped into him at the top of the armed forces memorial and again at the end of our visit near the memorial for the Hawks where he gave us some insight about the memorial. Thanks to him for making our visit so enjoyable.
If you’re thinking about whether it’s worth the trip it most certainly is.

Attended Ride to the Wall with several thousand other bikers. Venue coped well, no issues obtaining refreshments or toilets.

I attended a part of the Ride To The Wall.
It was emotional and well attended. The venue had flooded two days before 12500 people turned up on 7500 motorcycles. Despite that the venue was beautifully presented and a real oasis of calm and reflection. Cafes toilets prices .... nothing to complain about... all reasonable prices, clean and plentiful.
