This was to do the roof and tower tours, something I have wanted to do for a long time. Lichfield cathedral is a stunning cathedral in wonderful surroundings. I cannot recommend the place enough. Even without the tour, to visit the site is a must. Tickets have to be booked for the official tours of the roof and towers, but not for entering and exploring the cathedral itself

Lovely place to walk around and an example of how to honour the heroes that have given their life for our country. Plenty of helpful staff on hand. The gift shop has some lovely items. The only negative was the coffee shop, went in for a drink and a cream scone however the scone was stale and dry. Luckily I'd only bought one to share, we struggled to eat that even with cream and jam.

This is an absolutely beautiful cathedral, inside and out. It’s free to enter, but of course you can leave a donation and the cathedral volunteers were very friendly and helpful, happy to give you a history of the cathedral. Well worth a visit!

Visited with family from the USA and have to say having lived in Lichfield for two years we should have visited sooner.

The welcome we received brought us up to speed with everything Samuel Johnson and the house , so enthusiastic.

The house has five floors and no lift so if your mobility is poor consider before entering.

Excellent museum and supported by donations only, no admission charge.
