Lovely peaceful place, a wonderful place to explore the many memorials to fallen heroes, and so many regiments. I think every part of the armed forces is represented here, together with civilian groups like police forces, the RNLI and others.

The trees are still young, and it will be good to come back again and again over the coming decades to see how the woodland matures.

The restaurant and shop are well served with friendly welcoming staff. And it is free (apart from a small car park charge) to visit.

Visited the arboretum on 4 th Nov 2021. Found this really interesting and moving. So much to see. I had looked at the website in advance and booked a parking spot for £4 and an entrance time. Entrance is free but On arrival we booked a buggy tour at the front desk for £7 per person and l cannot recommend this enough. Our helpful guide Graham had volunteered for the last 9 years and really knew his stuff. He not only talked us through the battles and stories of the squad, boat or soldiers on the mission, he also knew the symbolism and design of the monument or memorial. He really brought the place to life for us, and on the way back we met the head of the Arboretum escorting Capt Tom Moores daughter Hannah around and they both stopped to talk to us which made our day! We would not have had this experience if we just bought a guide book. Thank you Graham. Due to COVID we had the buggy to ourselves and felt safe as there were Perspex screens between the seats.
This is not just a military installation but celebrates and commemorates everything from the ymca to the Boy Scouts! There is a lovely river to walk beside and the central memorial was very special. It has the names of the fallen inscribed and has a doorway to the afterlife specially designed to cast a ray of sunshine on to an alter at exactly 11am on the 11 day of the 11 th month. ( weather permitting). We stayed about 2 hours and had a hot meal and drink in the canteen. ( approx £7-£10 for a hot main course). Clean wash rooms and a great visit.

We all know a person or business that went the extra mile over the last 18 months, Sue Jackson the Wellbeing and Wellness Coach is certainly one. Her Zoom based yoga practice is open and inclusive of everyone whatever their ability and experience of yoga. Being able to practice regularly at home with Sue's support my physical and mental health has improved greatly. I'm really looking forward to in person classes soon. Take an hour out if your evening, you won't regret it and you can always turn off the camera if you don't want to share your efforts on screen!

Eddie has been servicing our boiler and doing many odd jobs (installing a new shower, fixing leaks, etc.) for a few years now and is always honest, punctual, courteous, offers good pricing, and a top level workmanship.
Often Eddie has been fixing up issues that our previous plumber had created from his poor work, so we are extremely happy to have found such a good guy that offers an excellent service.
We would highly recommended E.C.A. for any plumbing or heating services.
