The Garrick is a lovely cosy and friendly theatre without the feeling of being in a city. Love to visit every time

My Husband and I went to the Garrick to watch South Staffordshire College do their performance in the studio.
We had a great time and all the students were amazing.
Lovely venue, and we enjoyed it so much I'm going back tonight.

Went along to this show as we're massive fans of the original movie, we've previously enjoyed an amateur production of the Graham Linehan version at Sutton Coldfield too.

Annoyingly, the theatre chose to let the local choir group practice in the upper foyer and block the door to our seats, they still hadn't moved with 5 mins to the curtain so we had to find our way round via the dress circle to our seats in the box.

This cast in this version struggled remembering lines and talked over one another due to missing their cues on several occasions, the director also chose to mimic the staircase with a piece of faux balustrade in the middle of the set - but this became quite an irritating distraction to be honest!

They struggled to get many laughs from the audience and a couple near us left after the second half started, not sure why didn't just leave at the interval. I know its only amdram so I hope I'm not being too harsh...

I love this cathedral. It is the right side of awe inspiring whilst still being welcoming, which is a hard feat to achieve. There is so much to see in all the different areas, from the original uncovered paintings on parts of the walls, the 'Gabriel' from St Chad's tomb to trying to search for the green men everywhere! I think we've found 3 but I'm told that there are lots of them! The hirkenrode window is missing at the moment, in for restoration, but actually it allows you to see that end of the cathedral in a different light, literally! So not necessarily a bad thing. If you are anywhere near Lichfield, or just anywhere in Staffs, go and have a look...

Although we don't live too far from this small Cathedral City, other than going to the Guildhall for concerts, we had never been to the Cathedral. On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant lady who gave us a map & told us the best things to look out for. The outside is very impressive & although it looks as if the stone needs cleaning up we were told that it is made from sandstone & wouldn't stand up to sand blasting to clean it. Inside it is very grand but has a peaceful atmosphere and there was much to look at, including a small selection of the "Staffordshire Hoard" which was most interesting. The choir stalls have all been carved and there are many interesting memorials. Unfortunately the ancient Flemish stained glas windows have been removed, temporarialy, for refurbishment & won't be back until 2015 but that makes a very good reason to return.

Beautiful cathedral run by volunteers who were extremely helpful and informative. Getting to see a sample of the Staffordshire hoard and hear about how it was found and why it is thought it was there was very interesting

If you are within 100km from here this is a must see. It's hard to even explain how striking it is with its individually carved statues adorning the exterior and magnificent sections inside.

Additionally, the town surrounding it is really cute.

This was one of the best cathedrals I have visited. The outside is stunning and very unique. Be certain to see the outside of the huge doors. They are an original feature and not to be missed!
The inside is dark and very moody in places, light and airy in others. It is a perfect contrast. It is incredibly beautiful! Be certain to peek in on the Staffordshire Hoard pieces on display!
