Very interesting place to visit. I am in a wheelchair at the moment, and we found it easy to get around. There are little trains that can accomodate wheelchairs too, because the area is quite large . There are disabled toilets too , with easy access to the cafeterias also. The monuments were lovely, in lovely gardens too.

We really enjoyed our tour, well worth doing, our guide Keith was brilliant and what made it for us was his passion for D-Day. Very knowledgable and if there was any questions relating to D-Day or the Arboretum he answered them.
The National Arboretum is well worth visiting and try the restaurant food was very good.
Thank you from Nigel, Michelle, Mandy and Graeme.

We weren't intending on visiting, but we'd travelled in the area the previous day and saw the crowds of bikers involved in the Ride To The Wall, and so we felt we ought to go and visit. So, it is really thought provoking and poignant to see all the trees and memorials and puts the loss and sacrifice into context. The central memorial was very touching. The statues were beautiful. We don't have a direct connection to anyone killed in action, but we can appreciate how much that remembrance would mean to the families of service people who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Run by a charity without government funding - which is definitely a bonus - the NMA is so worth a visit. Look at the website first and plan your visit well. We spent one day there three months ago and it was not enough. This time we spent two full days there and managed to see everything that we wanted to see. But it is a 150-acre site and it takes time to get around.

We took the little train first - it is worth the £7 fare because it shows you where the foremost memorials are and points you to everything else with a very useful commentary. Be sure not to miss the remembrance service (not a Church service) which gives you even more information. That is every day at 10:50, so book the train art 11:30.

The memorials are not only military, but the military ones are just amazing: who had the idea to place two slots in the walls of the central military memorial mound such that at 11AM on the 11th day of the 11th month the sun (if we have any) shines through the slits and lights up the wreath in the centre? That works in the chapel, too, where the light shines through a window and lights up the altar above which the cross is a sword of sacrifice. Just brilliant.

It is a place of joy and sadness - take some tissues as you see the 'Shot at Dawn' memorial - the first to be lighted by the morning sun! Weep for the lost souls in the SANDS memorial.

Don't forget to make a donation and keep this place looking as beautiful as it was when we visited.

Really friendly and accommodating group of people. Made my children feel a part of the group from the first session. Can't wait to enjoy the full hospitality on offer in due course.

What magnificent architecture. Went to Lichfield to have a look round as a few people at work said it was a nice place to visit. The first thing I will say is the the carparks are well signposted and not too expensive. The walk to the cathedral is nice, down a narrow street which then opens out to the precinct. We were welcomed by a guide who gave us a short but informative talk about the history of the building, I then bought a camera ticket (only £2) and we went to explore. All in all a great morning, the guides were friendly & knowledgable. Would recommend to anyone, even like myself with no interest in relgion.
