What a wonderful site the Cathedral is. It stands proud. Quite easy access. You do not have to be religious to enjoy and appreciate an historical building. There is a park and ducks and swans on the water near by. Enjoy the shops in Damm Street. Have tea and cake enjoy the experience.

Lichfield cathedral is stunning and steeped in history. The newly restored windows are breathtaking - and how refreshing that it's free to enter - do leave a donation - it takes a huge amount to maintain. The volunteer guides are friendly and informative. An absolute must if you're visiting Lichfield.

We never went into the Cathedral but just admiring the building and architecture outside was awe inspiring.

Although constructed of dark hued Staffordshire sandstone, this magnificent building seems light and illuminated and almost floats above the city on its elevated site. There are many corners, alcoves and plaques throughout, many marking not ecclesiastical but social and military history. Well worth a visit in its own right, Lichfield offers so many more historical and cultural attractions as well as being just a delightful city to experience.

Magnificent in every respect - the "Ladies of the Vale" (Vale of Lichfield) refers to the cathedral's three beautiful spires.
Entry is free of charge except for voluntary donation. Friendly and knowledgable volunteers are on hand to answer any questions not covered in the free guide.
Amazing windows, some recently removed and cleaned, and a touching memorial to the now-disbanded South Staffs Regiment, along with First World War poems and memorabilia..
The cathedral's treasures include fabulous Spode and Wedgwood urns, and gospels dating from the 7th century. The Chapter House holds an exhibition and information about the Staffordshire Hoard.
It's easy to spend an hour exploring this fine building, under the beign gaze of its patron, St Chad.

An amazing building.

Friendly staff who are very knowledgable.

The cathedral is free to enter but you are asked for a donation. Once you have looked around you will have no hesitation but to donate. An inspiring building.

Free entry wonderful staff who know their stuff and a place to find peace if you need somewhere to think! They are under going some work but that did not spoil it! In fact they were doing sound checks and whoever the organist is they gave a wonderful performance of bits and pieces of music! Glad I went today! Gift shop and cafe across the road both reasonable prices!
