Guest speakers will take you through the events of that fateful day, examining the battle from different perspectives, including the first tank used in modern warfare - the aptly-named ‘Daredevil’ designed and built in Lincolnshire - the lives of Lincolnshire men caught-up in the conflict and a showing of the official war film, ‘The Battle of the Somme’.
