The Liverpool Daily Post is to close after 158 years of reporting the news in Liverpool. Owners Trinity Mirror turned it into a weekly two years ago but failed to halt its reverse in fortunes. An app for business news was launched recently but it came attached with an unrealistic £9.99 a month pricetag.
I worked there for many years so its sad news but not unexpected. In today's fast-paced business environment you have to be able to adapt and those running the paper have been unable to figure out a way of keeping advertisers on board. That's because savvy businesses know that sites like bestofliverpool are far more suited to their needs.
I would like to wish our customers and readers and very Happy Christmas. Stick with us, next year is going to be even better!
