Footballers banned from Driving

What is it about footballers? Do they have separate rules regarding driving offences from us?

Tevez gets a paltry £1.2k fine for driving while banned. What is that about 1.9 minutes of his football playing week?

Then Nasri gets gets a ban after his original conviction was overturned because he wasn't aware his Mercedes was photographed speeding. Did you ever hear such utter bulls**t?

I've never been aware of the photos either! But I never got off.

In 2007, Ronaldo got a £1,000 fine, then in 2009 he wrote off his Ferrari in a strange accident. (He was tested for alcohol and cleared).

It would be very interesting to have a national survey of driving offences by footballers and their punishments.

I think Sweden bases their Driving Fines on ability to pay. they look at the individual's ability to pay, or their earnings. So if someone earns £200k per week, they would get a fine equivalent to say 2 weeks. That's about the equivalent, for the average UK worker, of what Nasri got for his offence!

If you made £100k per year, your fine would be £4k! Almost 4 times the fine that Tevez got!

also for the normal person like you and me, we couldn't afford to hire a chauffeur to get us around.

Hey maybe we could pay off the national debt if we just fined these guys on that basis. George Osborne are you listening?
